The corporate advisory firm BDO compiles an annual list of Queensland's top 400 privately owned companies. They use full-time staff numbers, revenue figures and asset values to compile the annual Q400 list.
Building companies J Hutchinson and BMD Holdings have been among the top three private businesses in the Q400 for the past years. According to a recent BDO survey, the manufacturing companies in the Q400 reported $2.5 billion in annual revenue, $1 billion more than those on the previous year's list.
All combined, businesses in the Q400 reported over $14 billion in revenue annually. They employed more than 37,000 full-time employees, and boasted over $7 billion of gross assets. Further analysis of Queensland business by corporate advisory BDO lead them to make the above quote that QLD's economy was in good shape for the years ahead.
